2. Data Stored On Device
The App stores learning data locally on your device (for example, lessons, cards, review history, playback/tracking state, and settings such as language/theme preferences). Local media file access uses Android file access/URI permissions selected by you.
3. Data Sent To Backend Services
To provide online features, the App sends required data to backend endpoints, including authentication, transcription/translation requests, billing sync, and error reporting. This may include user content and technical metadata needed to complete the request.
4. Third-Party Services
The App and backend integrate with third-party providers:
- Google Play Billing for subscription purchase and entitlement checks.
- Google Play Integrity API to validate app/request integrity.
- Google Play Developer API / RTDN for subscription status synchronization.
- OpenAI API for translation and smart-translation features.
- Soniox API for audio transcription workflows.
These providers process data under their own privacy terms and security controls.
5. How We Use Information
- Provide core product features (media lessons, transcription, translation, flashcards, review).
- Authenticate users and secure backend APIs.
- Validate subscriptions and enable/disable premium entitlements.
- Detect abuse, fraud, and unauthorized usage.
- Diagnose failures and improve reliability/performance.
6. Data Sharing
We do not sell personal data. Data is shared only as necessary to run the service, including trusted infrastructure and third-party processors listed above.
7. Retention
- Backend logs table: records older than 30 days are deleted automatically.
- Subscription records: retained for billing reconciliation, fraud prevention, and compliance needs.
- On-device data: retained until you delete it in-app or uninstall the App.
8. Security
We use reasonable technical safeguards (including authenticated API access and integrity checks) to protect data in transit and at rest. No method of transmission or storage is guaranteed to be 100% secure.
